All youth in Cecil and Harford Counties between the ages of 16 - 24 can obtain information on careers, education/training, and employment at the Workforce Centers in Cecil and Harford Counties.
Youth Committee - The Susquehanna Youth Committee is a twenty-member body representing education, business, juvenile justice, law enforcement, public housing, parents, youth, and youth service providers. The Council advises the Susquehanna Workforce Investment Board on youth policy issues and is responsible for the creation of a comprehensive service delivery system for youth in Cecil and Harford Counties.
Job Fairs - Summer Job Fairs: Two Summer Job Fairs are held in March for youth, ages 16-24, seeking competitive summer employment. Two Entry Level Fairs are held throughout the year, January and July. Youth, ages 18 - 24, planning on entering full-time employment are encouraged to attend. The job fairs are held at the University Workforce Center/Aberdeen and the Elkton Workforce Center.
Workshops - Basic employability information workshops are offered to community organization and agencies including Job Search 101, Career Options, and Background Checks/Security Clearances/Drug Testing.
Training - Youth interested in completing their GED or obtaining an occupational skill credential may be eligible for training services. Youth selected for training services are provided with tutorial assistance, academic and career assessment, and job search assistance.
